Foreign Birth Registration: Secure Your Child’s Citizenship

The First Step to a South African Passport for Your Baby

If you are a South African citizen and your child is born outside the country, they are a South African citizen by descent—but only if you claim it. You must register their birth with the Department of Home Affairs to get an ID number and an Unabridged Birth Certificate. Without this, you cannot apply for their SA passport.

The paperwork (DHA-24, DHA-529) is complex and often rejected due to minor errors. We manage the entire submission to ensuring your child’s heritage is secured.

Expats with Newborns: South African parents living in the UK, Australia, UAE, etc., who have recently had a baby.Returning Families: Families planning to move back to SA who need their child to enter on an SA passport, not a foreign visitor visa.Dual Citizenship Seekers: Parents ensuring their child secures their birthright to South African citizenship before turning 18.
