Working and Studying: The Section 11(6) Endorsement
A standard Spousal or Life Partner Visa only gives you the right to reside in South Africa. It does not automatically give you the right to work, study, or start a business.
To do so, you must apply for a specific endorsement under Section 11(6) of the Immigration Act.
- To Work: You need a formal job offer and employment contract from a South African employer.
- To Run a Business: You need CIPC company registration documents.
- To Study: You need an acceptance letter from a registered educational institution.
